A prototype of the rudder has been manufacture and is undergoing sea trial test since 2005. The rudder has been adapted to a 33 feet sail boat. The rudder proves to give fast corrections of heading in all of the weather conditions. And also prove good steering in light wind. Simple adjustment of the orientation is possible since the mechanics is easy to handle. Below are some pictures of the wind vane rudder.
